Story
A super-sweet Colombian decaf sourced from smallholders in the Eje Cafetero, a renowned coffee-growing region nestled between the Central and Western mountain ranges. This location offers ideal access to Buenaventura port on the Pacific as well as the major cities of Bogotá and Medellín.
Grown at elevations of 1,200–1,900 meters in sandy clay soils, this coffee features a mix of Castillo and Caturra varieties. It is fully washed and dried on patios or raised beds, depending on local conditions.
Decaffeinated using the Ethyl Acetate (EA) process a natural compound derived from fermented sugars this method gently removes caffeine while preserving flavor. After steaming, the EA bonds with caffeine over several hours before a final steam removes any remaining trace.
The result is a vibrant and complex cup with bright acidity, jasmine florals, and tropical fruit notes. Expect aromas of cocoa butter and cherry, with flavors of fudge, vanilla, and cocoa butter up front, finishing with orange and cherry. A medium malic acidity, heavy body, and juicy mouthfeel round out the profile.
