Story
This fruit-driven natural coffee showcases bright watermelon and rich pomegranate notes. Subtle sweet-cream hints round the jammy body, leading to a smooth, coating finish.
Vides 58 is a third-generation coffee estate based in La Libertad, Huehuetenango—one of Guatemala’s most respected high-altitude growing regions. Founded in 1958 by Dr. Jorge Vides as a family project alongside his medical practice, it has evolved into a vertically integrated, sustainability-driven operation known for standout microlots.
The original farm, La Bolsa, is now part of a seven-farm estate spanning 157 hectares, with 17 hectares preserved as protected forest and river ecosystem. This long-term investment in conservation supports soil health, biodiversity, and consistent cup quality.
Today the estate is led by Renardo “Nayo” Ovalle Vides, who manages production, milling, and export to ensure full traceability from farm to shipment. Quality control is directed by Q Grader Jacqueline Ovalle Vides, whose expertise guides precise processing and lot selection.
This naturally processed lot was selected during our 2025 visit, distinguished by meticulous fermentation and controlled drying. The cup delivers vibrant fruit upfront, a rich jammy body, and a clean, sweet finish—hallmarks of the clarity, sweetness, and depth that define Huehuetenango coffees and make Vides 58 highly sought after in the specialty market.
