Story

Triangle Accent

Remolinos is a micro-lot of Pink Bourbon from smallholder producers near the town of San Agustín in southern Huila. The Huila region is the largest producer of coffee in Colombia. San Agustín is famous for the San Agustín Archaeological Park, home to pre-Colombian carved volcanic stone figures, tombs, and the UNESCO Biosphere reserve. Remolinos refers to the river whirlpools running along the mountainous valley of Southern Huila. The Pink Bourbon variety was discovered in 2014 in the village of San Adolfo, in Acevedo Huila, and gained popularity due to its resistance to coffee leaf rust (roya) as well as its excellent yield and cup quality. It is a naturally occurring hybrid that has gained popularity recently by scoring exceptionally high and winning international awards and coffee competitions. Its flavor profile is known to have punchy acidity, floral notes, and natural fruit sweetness, making it a standout in quality.
