Story

Triangle Accent

At Finca Santa Cruz, José "Pepe" Argüello continues his family’s legacy as a third-generation award-winning coffee producer. He specializes in cultivating Arabica varietals, including Bourbon, Typica, and Gesha, within the rich, biodiverse El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. He is no stranger to experimentation with his processing methods, frequently implementing unique anaerobic fermentation techniques to emphasize the beans' natural profiles, resulting in especially sweet flavors and light acidity.

His craftsmanship has earned him multiple awards at the prestigious Cup of Excellence competitions, including the historic distinction of being the first estate to win three consecutive times. When José is not tending to his farm or trying a new process, he is dedicating his time to helping smallholder farmers market their coffees. We are excited to showcase José Argüello’s natural process Bourbon on our menu!
