Story
Finca La Providencia, a family-owned estate in the Anzueto family for three generations, is now run by Victor Hugo Anzueto, who carries on the same care and pride that one would expect from someone who grew up on this land. Nestled in the highlands of Huehuetenango, at an elevation of up to 1,600 meters above sea level, the farm produces exceptionally grown Catuai and Caturra beans that we are delighted to bring to you.
The journey of this coffee begins long before it reaches your cup. Victor’s team of skilled pickers meticulously hand-selects only ripe cherries. Each bag undergoes a rigorous inspection at intake, and any cherries that fail to meet the quality standards are meticulously sorted and processed again. The coffee is then pulped using an eco-friendly Penagos pulper, which utilizes up to 95% less water compared to traditional processing methods. This thoughtful approach not only benefits the coffee but also contributes positively to the surrounding community.
The result is a clean, high-grown washed coffee that embodies the essence of Guatemala. It boasts notes of rich, dark chocolate and a grounded depth reminiscent of walnut, with a lingering sweetness that evokes the taste of raisins.
