Story
Our beloved washed Ethiopian coffee is back! We were so impressed with last year’s coffee that we decided to offer two separate harvests to ensure its availability. This is our first Ethiopian offering of the year, and we’re thrilled to introduce Danche!
Nestled in a charming village in Ethiopia’s Worka Chelbessa region, Danche coffee is produced by the talented entrepreneur Neguesse Debela. After establishing his first processing site in 2017, Neguesse expanded his operations in 2019 to include the Danche washing station.
Today, Neguesse and his family manage both sites, diligently producing high-quality washed, natural, and experimental coffees. Danche’s unique flavor profile is achieved through a traditional Ethiopian process: a 36-48 hour underwater fermentation followed by 10-14 days of drying on raised beds.
The result is a coffee that embodies the best of washed Ethiopian beans, with a crisp mouthfeel and a harmonious balance of sweetness and floral notes. Prepare to be delighted by the delightful flavors of Lemon-lime, Honeysuckle, and Blueberry Pie.
