Story
A good espresso should taste as sweet and complex as a filter coffee. Since espresso is simply an intense concentration of a coffee, using high quality bean becomes even more important. For maximum sweetness and flavor complexity, this coffee is roasted lighter than most roasters’ “espresso” blends. Taste is subjective, so play with this recipe, but we invite you to start with a coffee to water ratio of 1:3 for espresso, use filtered water, and grind a bit finer than you likely would from other roasters.
Remember when you first got into specialty coffee? You likely fell in love with the surprising sweet smoothness of your cup; the chocolatey flavors that actually taste as good as the coffee aroma. This special blend was carefully built around such a flavor profile. You’ll be dazzled with the chocolatey tasting notes of chocolate fudge and cocoa nib. The subtle flavor of baked apple adds just a bit if complexity that elevates the drink and highlights the natural sweetness. To achieve this cup of chocolate goodness, this chocolate kiss espresso is created by a blend of pre-roast blended and post-roast blended coffees.
