Costa Rica La Pradera — Red Honey Process

This red honey processed coffee from Costa Rica brims with sweet complexity. Bright notes of Macintosh apple shine up front, followed by agave-like sweetness and a smooth, syrupy body. A gentle floral lift rounds out the cup, bringing balance and clarity to every sip.

Grown at 1,550 meters in the Los Santos region, this lot comes from Hacienda La Pradera-a 181-hectare experimental farm renowned for innovation in coffee cultivation and processing. The producers here meticulously sort and cup each variety, fine-tuning their methods to highlight every bean’s unique character. The red honey process leaves a generous layer of fruit on the seed as it dries, amplifying sweetness while preserving the coffee’s clean structure.

Story:

Brothers Andrew and John Mahoney opened Atomic Cafe in 1996. We take pride in every aspect involved in presenting you with the best cup of coffee possible. Not only do we roast all our own coffee, but we are meticulous in our selection of green beans. Whether we're buying from South or Central America, Africa or Indonesia or anywhere else in the coffee-growing world... We only buy the finest specialty grade Arabica beans. And we always pay prices that ensure farmers receive fair wages for their hard work. Once the coffees have been imported to the states and shipped to our cafe, we work long hours to determine each coffee's optimum roast profile, which we always evaluate in a rigorous coffee-tasting practice called 'cupping'. Atomic Coffee Roasters is a Roaster / Retailer located on the North Shore of Boston. Founded in 1996 we began roasting in 2004 and quickly gained national recognition for outstanding quality and consistency. In addition to roasting for our own stores, we have an ever-expanding list of wholesale customers including outstanding cafes, finer grocery stores, and posh restaurants. We work tirelessly to source the best coffees from around the world so that you can buy specialty grade Arabica coffee, freshly roasted five days a week in our Beverly store.
