Story

Triangle Accent

Bright, juicy, and comforting—Bahire is a dynamic cup that evolves as it cools. Grown on a single hillside in Burundi’s Ngozi province, this sweet and complex lot combines delicate florals, stone fruit, raisin, and smooth, chocolatey depth. Named after the Kirundi word for “be well,” Bahire is a coffee that feels as uplifting as it is layered.

This sweet and complex coffee brings together delicate tea-like florals with notes of stone fruit, raisin, milk chocolate, and a hint of pastry. It’s bright and juicy upfront, with a smooth chocolatey sweetness that deepens as it cools–making it a dynamic cup from first sip to last.

Grown on a single hill in Burundi’s Ngozi province, this lot stood out for its exceptional quality. This importer behind this coffee traced its origin after noticing one particular flavor profile consistently rising above the rest. That search led her to this unique hillside, where terroir plays a defining role in shaping the cup.

“Bahire” means “be well” in Kirundi, a fitting name for a coffee that feels both uplifting and comforting. Whether brewed hot or flash-chilled, Bahire offers a refreshingly sweet experience with plenty of room for exploration.

Story:

Brothers Andrew and John Mahoney opened Atomic Cafe in 1996. We take pride in every aspect involved in presenting you with the best cup of coffee possible. Not only do we roast all our own coffee, but we are meticulous in our selection of green beans. Whether we're buying from South or Central America, Africa or Indonesia or anywhere else in the coffee-growing world... We only buy the finest specialty grade Arabica beans. And we always pay prices that ensure farmers receive fair wages for their hard work. Once the coffees have been imported to the states and shipped to our cafe, we work long hours to determine each coffee's optimum roast profile, which we always evaluate in a rigorous coffee-tasting practice called 'cupping'. Atomic Coffee Roasters is a Roaster / Retailer located on the North Shore of Boston. Founded in 1996 we began roasting in 2004 and quickly gained national recognition for outstanding quality and consistency. In addition to roasting for our own stores, we have an ever-expanding list of wholesale customers including outstanding cafes, finer grocery stores, and posh restaurants. We work tirelessly to source the best coffees from around the world so that you can buy specialty grade Arabica coffee, freshly roasted five days a week in our Beverly store.
