Espresso Novo is a great and momentous discovery! With
smooth notes of caramel, banana, and a nutty finish, this is one
of the most complex and remarkable espressos ever! Herb
Brodsky and his sons Jake and Joseph are a remarkable family.
To Herb every cup is like a song… a Bob Dylan song. He’s part
hitchhiking poet, part bohemian writer. Jake, a scientist of
coffee operations, obsesses on coffee perfection, getting primo
beans from his brother Joseph, their world-traveling sourcer.
They treat coffee like fine wine, so beautifully presented, even
their packaging looks like a fancy gift. There is good crema and
Karma in every sip of this amazing and tantalizing Espresso.

Attention Chocoholics: looking for an espresso that is
super duper chocolatey? Then Klatch House
Espresso is for you! I have been pulling shots all
morning on my new La Marzocco GS3 and am loving
it! Not to be confused with their
FTO House Espresso…This espresso is ultra rich and
has a heavy, creamy
body. Add steamed milk to the Klatch House
Espresso and it tastes like a Mocha without adding
any chocolate and all those calories. It is really quite
amazing. On my 3rd cappuccino this morning I
decided to experiment. While I never add sugar to my
coffee, because of the over the top chocolate body of
the espresso, I wanted to see what would happen if I
added a touch of sugar and a spray of whipped cream
on top. Well, as suspected, I felt like I was drinking a
real hot cocoa! I swear I was in back Paris having an
Angelina Hot Chocolate on Rue de Rivoli. Well, not
exactly. It isn't as thick, but almost. Because of its
richness in milk drinks, it may be a bit heavy for those
of you that slam 6 double Cappuccinos or Lattes
before noon, but for most people it will hit the spot
as a great mainstay to have on hand when you want
something sweet and naughty. For many people that
is everyday and all day long!

This dark roasted velvety masterpiece from Massachusetts
roaster John Mahoney’s Atomic Café is an exotic mix of beans
sourced from Papua New Guinea (PA-poo-Y nyoo GIN-ee) and
Costa Rica. The mix is quite wonderful because it produces such
a rich yet clean and refreshingly smooth cup. The smokiness
never overpowers. Dark roast lovers rejoice! Brewed hot or cold,
it can be sipped all day long. It’s an east coast/ west coast
brokerage house customer favorite and one of mine too.

Bird Rock's signature,"Bird Rock Blend" has what it
takes to be a great and classic cup that I will now lean
on as a go-to favorite. I love how the chocolate tones
transform into a thick and gooey, candy-fudge-like
finish. Yum! The Sumatra and Ecuadorian beans are
wonderfully combined and orchestrated by roast
maestro Charles Patton, the 2012 Micro-Roaster of
the year. His commitment to excellence is
unwavering. He personally travels to origin,
conducting a world-wide search to select the specific
beans that will produce the flavor profile he plans to
create, then after returning home, Charles "dials it
in" through various test roasts and numerous
cuppings until he achieves that perfect balance and
harmonious tonality he sought and now has brought
to the cup. This robust, medium-dark roast is a stellar
offering! If you have not had Bird Rock yet, order this
and taste why the crew from La Jolla, California are
2012's top award winners.

This Espresso is truly outstanding! As an Espresso, the
aromas of pear blossom and grilled honey crisp apple
transform into a nice silky liqueur. It's not over yet! Then tart,
but sweet notes of apricot, tamarind and cashew combine and
take you to a juicy and nice long finish. One taste and I yelled
out "Oh My God!" - I love this as a drip too. It's fruity qualities
truly make it a wonderful cup. I could drink this, all day long.
The Boss! Winter Espresso - Get it while you can -- as long as
it lasts. Another exceptional espresso from Barefoot!

Morissa, Morrissa, Morrisa…What can I say? Every
call I make to the Barefoot roastery is answered by
you. Last week. I called inquiring about Barefoot's
latest espresso from Papua New Guinea and you
whispered in my ear…Fig, Sweet Jam, Cola berry and
leather. Leather?! I gasped and my heart raced. I
pleaded for her to stop end my agony. She told me to
check the mailbox. I paced in front of the office. At 2
pm the mail came. In it was a
bag of Barefoot's Arokara Espresso. I ran to my La
Marzocco, opened the bag.
The smell was heavenly. With a pull of a shot I was
launched to the moon. I want you to all know this
this is one amazing expresso. I
wished for the larger size bag. That 2.5 pounder.
Perhaps I will ask Santa for that. Oh dear. Must I sit
on his lap?... The espresso was sweet and complex,
like Morissa and had that chocolatey earthy body
that warms and comforts so nicely in these colder
winter months.
It punches through the milk well and the
fruit makes it a bright and jammy cup. The leather
snaps it into shape. Try this espresso. This could be
your new favorite.

Don your white woven Panama hat and recline in
your
Sarchi chair. That perfect summertime coffee has
arrived!
Mike at Klatch coffee has
done it again with this phenomenal naturally
processed Panama coffee. Panama Elida Natural is
not your typical coffee. It is almost like a Geisha type
coffee but
for a considerably lower price. This beauty
produces wonderful sweet berries and
floral notes. It has a berryish
chocolatey body with a bit of boysenberry and guava.
It finishes with an almost banana aftertaste.
It is currently the number one favorite coffee of
Klatch team
member Nzo right now.
I have to agree, it is one not to miss.

Outstanding! I consider myself quite the Aficionado, Klatch
Coffee has created an out of this world -- out of body
experience
in a cup. A recollection: As I peddled my way through
Northern
Italy on my bicycle, back in my fool-hardy days, I came across
an
espresso bar and a lovely barista, as sweet and delicate as this,
she had balance too, just as this, and has a soft aftertaste -- oh
this one is just like Sofia--
ahh... My friends a must have! Not only has Mike produced
amazing progeny, including his daughter Heather who is a
world
Barista Champion, he also produces amazing roasted coffee!

Bella Finca coffee is an outstanding creation from Master
Roaster
Henry Kalebjian. Henry possesses a certain expertise that is
rare
in the coffee world. He has the unique ability of roasting bold
and incredibly flavorful dark coffees without burning the
precious beans. This comes from the experience of roasting
coffee for over 50 years, as well as fine-tuning every nuance of
his technique, having a supreme palate and knowing just when
to stop the roasting process. His San Francisco coffee shop on
foggy Noriega Street is well known to locals, as well as visitors
who stop
by from around the world to watch Henry roast. He is now well
into his
seventies and still roasts six days a week! He’s a proud
Armenian
man, who was raised in Lebanon. At age 12, he was pulled out of
school to learn roasting from his father. He has carried on this
family tradition and spent a lifetime honing his skills, passing
this knowledge onto his son Hrag, who now works alongside
him. These efforts have produced a legacy of great and unique
mainstay coffees. Henry’s coffees are not only great black but
also pack a powerful punch through milk-based drinks. Bella
Finca is a Henry’s number #1 seller and for good reason. It is
outstanding brewed black or makes one fantastic bold Italian
style espresso. I love its beautiful dark tones, richness, and full
bodied qualities along with its wonderful chocolate flavor notes!
Without a doubt, this a great choice for fans of a dark cup. This
is a must for all to brew. I recommend this with absolute
enthusiasm!
