Black Currant Cold Brewalicious Latte

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 serving
At discourse, we make every effort to break the "rules" of coffee and tea in new and exciting ways. One of the simplest, yet most transformative, examples of our ruthless rule breaking are brewing coffee with liquids other than water. The concept is so simple and yet took us nearly a year to arrive at: coffee is brewed with water, everybody knows that.

But what if it isn't? What if by using a complementary liquid in its place, we can enhance the experience of consuming a coffee? The following recipe was favorite for GoCoffeeGo in the summer, it's simplicity matched only by its deliciousness. Anyone can prepare this recipe with household equipment, just buy the coffee and tea!
Ingredients
  • 40 ounces (1120g) Harney + Sons Black Currant Tea
  • 3/4 cup (80g) coffee, ground coarse for immersion brewing
Directions
  1. Brew the Harney + Sons Black Currant tea per the provided recipe
  2. Grind coffee to a coarse grind for immersion brewing
  3. In a 64-ounce mason jar, combine the coffee and the Black Currant tea. Leave the mixture to infuse in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 16 hours
  4. Strain through a standard coffee filter
  5. In a tall glass with ice, combine 3 parts Black Currant Cold Brew and 1 part Whole or Oat Milk
