Marco Fidel grows coffee on his farm, Los Guayacanes, with his wife and two daughters, while his other two children have started their own neighboring farms. On Los Guayacanes they also cultivate anise and corn, both harvested when coffee isn’t in production. This blend of Caturra and Castillo was dry-fermented for twenty four hours before being sun-dried on raised beds.
The region of Nariño has both the high elevation and cool weather to consistently produce stunning coffees. Marco’s coffee showcases the kind of balance and sweetness that we look for in coffees from this region. In the cup we taste fresh citrus, subtle floral notes, vanilla sweetness, and crisp melon.
