Our current seasonal decaf selection comes to you from Sol & Café FTO Cooperative in Jaén, Cajamarca, Peru. It is the brightest, most complex and satisfying cup of decaffeinated coffee we have ever had. In fact, you might be surprised you’re drinking decaf at all. This cup is slightly bright with sweet citrus acidity balanced by dark chocolate.
The Cooperativa de Servicios Multiples Sol & Café Ltda (Coop Sol & Café) was established in March of 2008 to unite over 1,000 farmers, including rice and cacao producers, in Jaén, Cajamarca, Peru.
The cooperative was originally formed to collectively make agronomic and economic decisions with goals to protect the environment and help the local communities develop and progress. The coop members continue to work towards increasing the sustainability of their crops with a focus on maintaining Organic and Fair Trade certifications.
Sol & Café collaborates with Cooperativa Agrícola de Servicios Múltiples Norandino, an umbrella coop that prepares coffee for export and ensures traceability and quality control throughout the post-harvest process. Taking Good Care of Our Coffee, Our People, Our Farmers, Our Planet
Established in 2010 in downtown Floyd, VA (pop 432), Red Rooster was created with the simple notion of roasting excellent coffee for the owner’s existing coffee house. Soon, word of Red Rooster's quality spread around Virginia and up and down the East Coast.
Today, we employ 30 people while roasting some of the best coffee in the world. We are also the only coffee company in the country with a licensed on-site childcare facility for our employee's children.
While we've won numerous awards and accolades for our coffee quality, our true passion is in making a positive social impact both at home and abroad at the coffee's origin.
