Story

Triangle Accent

A new variety from the esteemed coffee growers Cafe Granja La Esperanza and their farm Las Margaritas! Our Las Margaritas Sidra natural is velvety, sparkling, and abundant in pink and red fruit notes. We taste so many fun notes in this playful cup including strawberry bubblegum, red grape raspberry sorbet, tropical skittles, red apple, and even candied circus peanuts. This is a natural process coffee, so the fruit notes are even more intensified in this sweet and velvety cup. It’s a stunner. This coffee won’t last long so we highly recommend snagging a bag today!

About the Sidra variety. Found mostly in Colombia and Ecuador, the Sidra variety’s beginnings is shrouded in a bit a mystery. While some claim the variety was developed by Nestle as a result of crossbreeding Typica and Bourbon varieties, other farmers say that genetic testing has revealed that the Sidra variety is actually most closely linked to Ethiopian Heirloom varieties. Other tests, however, have revealed different parentage. What is known, is that the Sidra variety creates a very sweet, elevated cup of coffee. This rare coffee variety has been used by several recent World Barista Champions (2019 & 2022) due to it’s complex and dynamic flavor profile.

Unparalleled quality, a human story, and sustainability – that’s our coffee philosophy.

Unparalleled quality. We won’t buy a coffee unless we know that it will inspire you.

A human story. Often times a producer’s story gets lost in the coffee supply chain. It’s our focus to provide a seed-to-cup experience, honoring everyone involved

Sustainability. We purchase coffees directly from producers and through brokers who share our goal of making coffee a sustainable commodity. Financially and environmentally, the coffees we purchase seek balance. Premiums paid for quality far exceed fair trade premiums and afford a more sustainable, honest model.

Combine our coffee philosophy and passion for exceptional coffees with our down-home Midwest hospitality and that, in a nutshell, is JBC Coffee Roasters. We can’t wait to share our coffee passion with you.
