A more traditional espresso from Bird Rock Roasters, named for the famous gathering spot of a group of counter-culture wave riders that Tom Wolfe chronicled in his 1968 book. The spot is right down the road from us on a little beach called Windansea, a classic spot and where Bob Simmons engineered a light fiberglass surfboard that is the standard today.
This blend of espresso beans for sale is just that: a nod to our roots with an eye to our own style, a classic flavor palate blended with nuance and character.
We have made this entirely of coffees that are transparently traceable.
Easy drinking all the way. More accessible -think rich and deep- than the brighter and intense Monkey Bite espresso we are known for in our shops. This espresso can be pulled short or relatively long for a chocolatey and clean shot that carries an undertone of complexity. We recommend you extract about 20 grams ground very fine for roughly the same mass of extracted liquid, somewhere over an ounce dependent on how long you like to age it. This Bird Rock coffee blend works really well in a French Press, too!
ESPRESSO PARAMETERS: We recommend you extract about 20 grams ground very fine for roughly the same mass of extracted liquid, or a little under a fluid ounce.
This Bird Rock espresso house blend works really well in a French Press, too!
