CUP PROFILE: Cinnamon and cocoa aromas lead to a velvety cup with notes of figs, caramel and vanilla in the finish.

FARM INFO This coffee comes from Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio (COOPAFSI) in San Ignacio, Cajamarca. Specifically, it’s the work of 40 COOPAFSI producer members. Producers follow organic practices, which contributes to the preservation of the environment.

COOPAFSI was founded in 1968. Today it offers critical services to its 453 members. These include access to a wet mill in San Ignacio and a dry mill in Chiclayo; two quality control labs run by Q Graders; access to a plant nursery and organic fertilizer; and an experimental plot and education center.

Additionally, COOPAFSI offers a young entrepreneurs program, technical assistance, income diversification (through guinea pig farms and honey production) and micro loan access.

MORE COFFEES FROM THIS ROASTER

Barefoot Coffee Roasters was born in 2003 from a simple idea: treat coffee as a culinary product by delivering seasonal, farm fresh beans with wildly intense flavors. We travel to origin to find the most conscientious producers and hand select the coffees that take our breath away.. Most of our harvests are purchased from farmers we have known personally for many years, which results in a higher quality product that echoes our beliefs...

We roast with an emphasis on highlighting origin character versus roast character, enabling us to share with you the uniqueness of each coffee's terroir and inherent nuances. We choose flavor descriptors like banana split sundae, guava, chocolate ganache, cola berry and thick dollops of plum molasses because that's what you get with Barefoot Coffee. Are you craving Barefoot Coffee yet?
