The principal focuses of the co-op are gender justice and ethnic harmony. These core values are reflected by the cooperative's name, which means "togetherness" in the Swahili language. Muungano was founded in 2009 and has grown from milling coffee on early twentieth-century technology. They now have two new washing stations, a new cupping lab, and a trained roaster and cupper on staff. The cooperative continues to strive for excellence and their hard work and dedication are reflected in their fantastic coffee offerings.
