For our first Honduras release of the 2022 season, we happily welcome back another stunning offering from Jose Antonio Ramirez! His farm, Las Playitas, is located along the highest peaks of the Comayagua Mountains in the small town of San Miguel de Selguapa. The Ramirez family, including Jose Antonio’s three brothers and father, are one of the central coffee growing collectives in Selguapa that are working directly with Semilla and now heavily focusing on specialty coffee.
The Typica from Jose Antonio Ramirez is jammy, and densely packed with flavor. The clear expressions of both sweetness and acidity are evident signs that this coffee was grown at a high elevation, picked at peak ripeness, and processed expertly. The overall feel is silky and comforting, like vanilla and milk chocolate. The acidity is sweet, deep, and juicy - reminiscent of both fresh berries and dried fruits like dates and figs. Flavors are ever-changing from hot to cold and from days off of roast, making this lot particularly fun to explore. We taste: fruit punch, blackberry, cherry, fig, date, prune, brown sugar, sugarcane, vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate.

1000 Faces Coffee is a coffee roaster, merchant of change, and voyager of the agrarian spirit. We travel to countries of origin and establish relationships with producers to ensure the integrity of our coffee. Since we opened our doors on day one, we have been working in partnership with the two most important ends of the 1000 Faces spectrum: the grower and the customer. It is this partnership that is at the foundation for real economic sustainability for not just us, but all parties involved. We believe that respect for geographic origin, direct relationships, and ecological awareness is the basis for creating a more sustainable coffee culture. Building on these principles, from seed to cup, 1000 Faces has set out to help you buy fresh roasted coffee beans of unsurpassed integrity and quality.
