Decaf Monk is currently composed of a coffee from Ricardo Tavares, owner of Fazenda Primavera in Chapada de Mina, Brazil. We’ve purchased this naturally processed coffee for Decaf Monk many times in the past with help from our long time partners, Ally Coffee.
The caffeine is removed via Swiss Water’s proprietary decaffeination process. This process relies purely on water and carbon filters, removing the caffeine while preserving as much of the flavor and structure of the coffee seed as possible.
Decaf Monk is as fresh and flavorful as our caffeinated coffees and pairs wonderfully with milk. The current iteration, featuring the Swiss Water Processed lot from Fazenda Primavera, is sweet, smooth and full bodied. We taste chocolate syrup, dried fruit, cashew butter, almond, maple sugar, cherry, and shortcake in this decaf medium roast coffee.
