Dogwood Coffee Company is a small, quality-focused roaster out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. We concentrate our efforts on developing relationships with producers at origin, learning about and executing the craft of roasting, exploring the science of brewing and sharing delicious coffee with you.
Dogwood began in October of 2010 when a group of us working together in coffee wanted to create something new, a company where we didn't have to buy or roast anything we weren't super excited about. We wanted to approach the business of coffee without compromise, and be a part of the growing community of specialty coffee in the Twin Cities and beyond.
We approach roasting as a new event for each coffee we offer, and roast everything to a profile we feel serves that coffee best. We are continuously discovering new things about roasting and improving upon the skills we already have.
Our goals are to develop as many relationships as possible in the sourcing process. We want to travel to meet the people that grow, care for and harvest the coffee we roast and brew. It is our belief that the more people in the chain that have the same quality-minded approaches and sustainable living goals as we do, the better off we all are. We believe everyone should be paid fairly for what they do well, and that long term relationships mean we can all enjoy delicious coffee for years. We hope our producers, wholesale partners and every day coffee drinkers will grow with us in our understanding of coffee and quality.
We are growing and meeting new people visiting more producers each year. When we aren't able to visit a country that we purchase coffee from, we rely on a few specialty importers that are just as excited about and dedicated to quality and relationships as we are. These small importers visit the producers they work with year after year, and in the same way we do, they develop relationships with producers to build quality and sustainability.
We have come to know and work with great people in our coffee experience so far, and we'll strive to continue this process for years to come.
