What better place than Ethiopia, the birthplace of Arabica coffee, to produce
this lovely, amazingly sweet Italian style organic espresso from “coffee
missionary” and famed co-founder of the Cup of Excellence, George Howell of
Terroir, who is an absolute legend in the coffee world.
Grown in the Sidamo region of the Dara district near Yirgacheffe at 1,700 to
2,100 meters above sea level in rich, fertile red clay soil, this creamy coffee is a
departure from many of the light roasts Terroir is better known for.
The wild coffee trees in Sidamo produce coffee fruit that has a perfume like no
other with delicious notes of candy-lemon, soft apricot in a rich milk chocolate
base. George, I think I love you!
Another masterpiece from the Great One… Indeed!
Equator's Ethiopia Amaro Gayo is truly a symphony for your tastebuds. The aroma
is positively intoxicating. It seduces you with its sweet blueberry and honey floral
scent. Sweet lemon, Peach and Strawberry notes blossom and linger on and on.
It's organic and shade grown and that is a wonderful plus. I have had many
Ethiopian Coffees but just thinking about Equator's Amaro Gayo draws me back in
and I am once again under its spell...
