Calama - Bolivia

Among the many lots we tasted this year in Bolivia, the coffees from producers of the Calama canton stood out. Calama was established in 1989 and is home to several small-hold coffee plantations, each averaging between two and three hectares. The elevation is only 1350 MASL, but the Caturra, Typica and Catuaí trees found on these slopes produce some exceptional coffees. The Calama producers will harvest, pulp and wash the coffees at their farms before bringing them to Caranavi to finish drying at Agricafe’s mill, Buena Vista.
