factory is located in the Central Province of the Kirinyaga District, near the town of Karatina. Established in 1987, the factory serves as the central processing station for several small lot farmers in Gathundie, Gathiruini, Thunguri and Kaguyuu Villages. There are roughly 800 active small lot farmers. The Thunguri Coffee factory is a small operation run by Simon Mathenge. This is the first year we have labeled Kenya Thunguri as a "Direct Trade" coffee.
