erseeing a very particular harvest of only the ripest cherries. Stuart, an engineer, set up brand new processing equipment. Ellen is a 3rd generation farmer and her daughter Ashley will likely one day take over as a 4th generation farmer. The farm name, “Finca de Dios” (Farm of God) derives as a commitment Ellen and Stuart have for their farmland. At Finca de Dios they concentrate their mission on the “Three Commitments” 1. Commitment to God; 2. Commitment to one another; 3. Commitment to the land, after that you are go. She is committed to taking care of the land in a sustainable manner and produces the best crops possible. She will be the first to admit that although many areas of coffee farming take lots of skill and practice some of the largest factors she attributes to the terrior and weather God blesses her with season to season. Although female coffee producers are a scarcity in Latin America, Ellen holds her own by studying hard and working very closely to the roasters who partner with her. Ellen has a degree in Botany while Stuart is an engineer by trade. The two The coffee produced at Finca de Dios is a perfect representation of specialty Guatemala coffee with its superb clarity, cleanliness, bright citrus and chocolaty body.
