e is grown in the Kirinyaga region, an area situated on the slopes of Mount Kenya to the southeast of the better known Nyeri growing region. Rich caramel combines with broad fruit tones that are suggestive of fragrant Albariño grape, juicy blackcurrant and sweet plum. As with our last lot of Kenya, the main varieties in the Mutira are mainly SL-28 and SL-34, the rather unromantic names for two very special Bourbon derived cultivars of Arabica. These varieties contribute, in part, the flavor profile Kenya coffees are famous for – crisp, penetrating fruit-toned complexity.
