anced acidity and phenomenal aromatics.” For a coffee to qualify for this award the roaster and coffee farmer must emphasize sustainability through fairness and transparency from seed to cup, and use third party organic certification. We are pleased to announce that for the second year in a row we have partnered with the Watadera Farmer’s Cooperative Union to bring you this outstanding coffee. Not only is it certified organic but it is also certified Fair Trade, meaning it was purchased at an economically sustainable price. This coffee was grown by co-op members in the Dara district, which is within Ethiopia’s famous Sidama growing region. The cooperative group is made up of over 1,500 small scale farmers who grow coffee high in the mountains, at altitudes over 6,000 feet above sea level.
