Guatemala San Rafael Urias Valdes
This farm was founded in the late 1880s by Rafael Valdes Quiroa by the Guacalate River in Antigua. Today, the farm is administered by the third generation of the Valdes family. After being handpicked, the coffee is traditionally wet-milled with natural water and sun-dried. The sister lot of this coffee finished in the top 20 of the 2011 Guatemala Cup of Excellence. This is a clean, transparent cup, loaded with chocolate and a nice, long finish. Thicker in body than the Santa Ana but not as intense as the Pacamara from El Injerto.
